Especially when the surge in demand for original content by streaming platforms is putting increased pressure on production crews to pump out projects faster and cheaper, which is resulting in subpar quality productions. Who benefits from all this pressure?

The investors, production companies, distributors, and ATL (Above-The-Line) talent all stand to profit from the project’s success through either recoupment (investors) or profit sharing (back-end participation).

So what does the BTL (Below-The-Line) cast and the crew usually get for the added pressure if the film is successful? Typically just the daily pay rate that was on the work-for-hire agreement and maybe an on-screen credit. Basically, it is just another job.

For some, that might be enough……We don’t think so. Afterall, you chose this industry because it is like no other, right?
